Lake County Sheriff Office Report

Tuesday, Nov. 27 – Deputies were contacted at the Sheriff’s Office regarding a fraud investigation. The victim advised he had received a phone call from an individual who was representing himself as an employee of his bank. The individual on the phone asked the victim for personal information regarding his social security number, date of birth and his mother’s maiden name. The victim supplied the information and the phone call was terminated. At the beginning of the month the victim did not receive his social security check so he telephoned his bank. The victim was informed that his social security payment had been forwarded to a different bank and deposited into a new account. The Social Security Administration is currently investigating the incident. The investigation is ongoing.  

Wednesday, Dec.12 – Deputies responded to the 91000 block of Christmas Valley Highway regarding stray pigs in the yard of another landowner, eating feed for the landowner’s stock. The owner of the pigs, who had been previously cited for stray animals at large, stated he would retrieve his pigs the next day. Deputies contacted the owner of the pigs and cited him a second time for animals at large. The pigs were retrieved and taken to the owner’s property. Investigation is ongoing.

 

Oregon State Police Report

Sunday, Dec. 9 — A traffic stop was initiated on a black Mazda for an observed traffic violation. Indicators of criminal activity were observed to include odor of marijuana and out of state travel destination. A consent search revealed approximately 10.7 pounds of vacuum sealed bags and Ziploc bags of marijuana, approximately 143.4 grams of non-OLCC marijuana extract, approximately 55.7 grams of non-OLCC marijuana edible suckers and approximately 8.2 grams of psilocybin mushrooms. William James Kincade, 32, of Pittsburg, Kan. And Ryan Wessley Thomas, 21, of Frontenac, Kan. were cited and released. 

Monday, Dec. 10 — Bryce Douglas Pederson, 24, of Colorado Springs, Colo., was stopped for a traffic violation. Several factors of criminal activity were observed, including an odor of marijuana. A search of the vehicle revealed over 112 pounds of high grade marijuana and over two pounds of non OLCC extract and a large amount of U.S. Currency. Pederson was charged with a commercial offense and lodged in jail on $335,000 bail. The silver Toyota Camry was impounded by Don Deiter’s Towing. 

Monday, Dec. 10 — Troopers received the report of a motor vehicle crash that turned into a domestic violence assault. Investigation revealed the female victim, Brenna M. Henderson, 26, of Christmas Valley had been assaulted. The suspect, Anthony James Terrigino, 36, was lodged in jail for assault in the fourth degree and providing false information. The red Buick was towed by Hall Motor Towing.  

Wednesday, Dec. 12 — A white pickup and its trailer were headed eastbound on Hwy 140E when the vehicles hit a patch of ice, causing the vehicles to roll over. David Wayne Coontz received minor injuries. Ace Towing responded and removed the vehicles. 

Wednesday, Dec. 12 — Austin Dean Bridges, 21, of Eugene was contacted at a road closure on Hwy 140E near mile marker 15. Several factors of criminal activity was observed, including an odor of marijuana. A search of the silver Nissan revealed two pounds of marijuana and about one pound of marijuana solids. Bridges was cited to appear and released.  

Thursday, Dec. 13 — A silver Subaru Impreza was stopped for a traffic violation. Indications of criminal activity were observed. A search of the vehicle revealed a small amount of imported marijuana flower and extract. A large sum of US currency was also discovered. Stefan Jay Mihaliak, 30, of Crescent City, Calif., and Cody Adam Palmer, 23, of Fairmont, W. Va., were cited and released.  

Friday, Dec. 14 — A black Chevrolet driven by William G Fillmore, 46, of West Chester, Pa., was stopped for a speed violation on Hwy 140 near mile marker 91. During the course of the traffic stop, the vehicle was found to be stolen out of Pennsylvania. The vehicle was confirmed stolen and Fillmore was taken into custody. Fillmore was also found to have a warrant for his arrest and he was transported and lodged into the Lake County Jail.  

Friday, Dec. 14 — Levi Michael Cheney, 33, of Eugene was stopped for a traffic violation. Several factors of criminal activity were observed including an odor of marijuana. A search of the gray Nissan Altima revealed over 50 pounds of high grade marijuana. Cheney was lodged in jail for PCS/DCS-mj and the the Nissan was impounded by Don Deiters Towing. 

Friday, Dec. 14 — Troopers stopped a Chevy Blazer on Hwy 140E near mile marker one for a lane usage violation. During contact with Courtney A Palmer, 41, of Bronx, N.Y.,several factors caused troopers to become suspicious that criminal activity was happening. A consent search revealed 3.8 pounds of marijuana located in wrapped Christmas presents on the back seat of the vehicle. Palmer was cited and released at the scene for exporting marijuana.
