Grand jury indicts pair for thefts - Wise County Messenger

Two Wise County men have been indicted for multiple burglaries on the north side of Lake Bridgeport last spring.

A Wise County grand jury met July 19 and indicted Dustin Dow Strouth, 32, of Chico and Casey Michael Hamblin, 35, of Bridgeport with burglary of a habitation, theft of property $30,000 to $150,000 and burglary of a building.

The alleged thefts happened during the early morning hours of April 23 at two adjoining properties in the 200 block of County Road 1743. One property owner reported several tools, welders, a cutting torch, drills, battery charger, chainsaw, ladders, an air compressor and insulated copper wires stolen, among other items, with the total value of $10,398. A stock trailer valued at $7,000 was also stolen. He also reported several items missing from his dock, including several fishing poles, fishing tackle, life jackets, surfboards, wake boards and paddle boards valued at approximately $3,000.

The other property owner reported a fishing boat valued at $34,000 had been stolen. He also reported a shotgun, drills, tool bag, wakeboards, wake/surf equipment, fishing poles, fishing tackle and life jackets valued at $7,750 had been stolen from his dock.

Two other men who were working at one of the properties also reported several tools stolen.

Strouth and Hamblin were arrested in May. Hamblin remains in the Wise County Jail, while Strouth has been released after posting bail.

The grand jury on July 19 also returned the following felony indictments:

Vickie Lee Brewer, resisting arrest, search or transport with deadly weapon

Christopher Michael Brignole, possession of a controlled substance less than 1 gram (cocaine)

Thailand Maurtice Clark, possession of a controlled substance 4-400 grams (tetrahydrocannabinol)

Stefan Desha Dickerson, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon

Michael Duane Ellis, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon

Roland Fabela, tamper/fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair

Kelton James Ford, evading arrest/detention with vehicle; resisting arrest, search or transport with a deadly weapon; assault public servant; aggravated assault against public servant
