
NORTH STONINGTON, CT —The votes are now being counted as North Stonington residents wait to see who was elected to races including First Selectman, Selectman, Town Treasurer, boards of finance, education, zoning and assessment appeals.

First Selectman
The candidates were Democrat Michael Urgo and Republican Brett L. Mastroianni.
Selectman
The candidates were Republican Robert A. Carlson and Democrat Nita B. Kincaid.
Town Treasurer
The candidates were Democrat Mark S. Donahue and Republican William A. Mason.
Board of Finance
The candidates were Democrat Carolyn Howell and Republican candidate Daniel J. Smith. There's also a race an alternate. Those candidates were: Democrat Connie Berardi and Republican Anne Akin.
Board of Education
The candidates were Democrats Stephanie Mastroianni and Darren Robert and the Republican candidates were Alex Karpinski and Philip Mendolia.
Board of Assessment Appeals
The candidates were Democrat Paula Woodward and Republican Candy Palmer.
Economic Development Commission
The candidates were Democrats Jennifer Anderson and Nicole Porter and the Republican candidates were Brett Mastroianni and William A. Mason. There are also races to fill a vacant seat and for an alternate. Those candidates were: Republican Stefan Grufstedt for the vacant seat and alternates Democrat Anthony Mazzella and Republican Jennfier Strunk.
Planning and Zoning Commission
The candidates were Democrats Jenn Pensa and Connie Berardi and Republicans Edward C. Learned and Louis Steinbrecher. There were also races to fill a vacant seat and for an alternate. Those candidates were: Democrat Mark Leonard and Republican Asa Palmer for the vacancy seat and Democrat Dick Seager and Republican Robert Kappes.
Zoning Board of Appeals
The candidates were Democrat Breeze Floyd and Republicans Bruce Smith and Shawn P. Murphy. There were also races to fill a vacant seat and for an alternate. Those candidates were: Democrat Joan Kepler for the vacancy and Democrat John Varas Jr., and Republican Colleen Thompson.
